Is your realtime really realtime?

The first time I saw it I was floored. Immediately the strategist in me began to play out all of the scenarios for what this could mean to search. This new, expressed form of information - captured in the utterances and microblog expressions - has enormous timely information value. “Gmail is down” - “There’s a plane in the Hudson” - “Arrested” - “Just read a great book…” My brain began to churn, and all of my experience studying users’ information needs told me this is going to be big."
