Google Adwords Tax Calculator

The Google AdWords ecosystem is a $20 billion+ market which quite literally drives trillions of Dollars in commerce. In spite of its great success, many marketers have not grasped its power yet. Some have ignored it. Thousands of advertisers have tried and failed.

Given that advertisers are already spending over $20 billion a year on the ads, it is not as easy to break into as it once was. Competition is entrenched, with well optimized campaigns the provide the profits needed to fuel further distribution and growth. And quality scores have the house (aka Google) competing against new advertisers who are looking for cheap clicks.

7 web tools to detect useful insights and trends

In order to create a successful SEO campaign, you need to have a good understanding of the way that people search, predict what keywords they will use for a given query and have a good knowledge of the market and of the industry. Modeling the way that people search can be considered as the holy grail of many SEO and Search Engine experts, because if this was possible, we would be able to predict the user behavior while searching. Even if modeling human behavior is almost impossible, by analyzing the search data we can get useful insights and trends.

Neuromarketing - Ads That Whisper to the Brain

Neuromarketing’s raison d’être derives from the fact that the brain expends only 2 percent of its energy on conscious activity, with the rest devoted largely to unconscious processing. Thus, neuromarketers believe, traditional market research methods — like consumer surveys and focus groups — are inherently inaccurate because the participants can never articulate the unconscious impressions that whet their appetites for certain products.

Twitter’s Official Analytics Product Has Arrived

Twitter has started inviting a select group of users to test a new analytics product, Mashable has learned. Such a product has been rumored for some time, and a Twitter executive said earlier this year that Analytics would debut by the end of 2010.

With Twitter Analytics, users will be able to see a plethora of data about their account; for example, information about which tweets are most successful, which tweets caused people to unfollow, and who the most influential users are that reply and retweet their messages.

Google Creates “Source” Meta Tags To Help ID Original News Sources

With the amount of content published online seeming to expand dramatically every year, Google says it’s experimenting with two new meta tags that it hopes will help it identify the original sources of online content. They’re called syndication-source and original source and here’s a look at what they do and how publishers can use them.

What Is Syndication-Source?
Web sites that syndicate their content to others can use the syndication-source meta tag to give Google a signal that theirs is the one that should be included in Google News. In a perfect world, the tag will be used by both the site that syndicates its content, as well as the site that receives and publishes the syndicated content from another source. The tag looks like this:
meta name=”syndication-source” content=”http://www.somedomain.com/article1.html”

Facebook suspends app developers who sold user info

"Facebook has revealed that a data broker has been buying identifying Facebook user information from app developers, and as a result the social-networking powerhouse has placed some developers on a six-month suspension.

The announcement, which Facebook made Friday afternoon on its developer blog, comes on the heels of the revelation that many popular Facebook apps were transmitting user IDs--which can be used to look up a users' names and, in some cases, the names of the app user's friends--to at least 25 advertising and data firms."

Your Role in Search Engine Relevancy

"Google is all about relevancy. Their whole business model depends on it. They want to provide searchers with the most relevant and useful results, and provide the easiest and most efficient means for searchers to find the information they are seeking.

So it comes as a surprise to see widespread discussion criticising the quality of Google search results among search marketing professionals, talk of people getting up in arms because they can’t find the information they are looking for, mention of people having to resort to old-fashioned bookmarking to avoid losing track of that golden nugget of an article they found back in 2003."Your Role in Search Engine Relevancy | Calculate Marketing
